What is Aloe Vera Gel?

Aloe Vera Gel is aloe vera juice in a cooling and refreshing gel base that provides relief from sunburn, dry skin and skin irritation. It is a soothing and non-greasy natural moisturiser, which is absorbed easily into the skin. The key ingredients to look for in a good Aloe Vera Gel are cucumber juice and vitamin E to energise and nourish your skin.

Aloe Vera – a cat owners best friend

Cat bites and scratches, kids falling off their bike, walking into a wall or just anything that results in skin damage and requires a bandage of some kind is a shock to the system. You wonder “how long this is going to take to heal?”. If you are like me you look for a plaster and try to stop the blood flow as soon as possible. Next thing that springs to mind is antiseptic. You do not want this getting worse. So you do that and think it’s sorted. Right? Wrong. What you might completely forget about is Aloe Vera. Why though? We all know about Aloe Vera, it’s the healing plant, however, I am betting a lot of people forget about it all together when they get hurt. My girlfriend has a cat that can be rather aggressive when on edge and this cat recently mauled me when I tried to pick it up. It was not until someone reminded me about the existence of Aloe Vera Gel that my eyes lit up. What a great idea!

What is the difference between Aloe Vera Gel and “Pure” Aloe Vera Gel, exactly?

So how pure is pure really? Many Aloe Vera Gel products out there have a listed purity depending on what else they have added to improve the formula, not the quality of the Aloe Vera used. Adding vitamin E and cucumber to a specially formulated Aloe Vera Gel produces an optimised healing gel, while adding a slight fragrance will improve the overall products scent. This results in different brands having slightly different levels of Aloe Vera purity. So don’t assume that a particular Aloe Vera Gel that boasts a purity of 95% is not as “good” or effective for healing and skin care, as one that states a purity of 99%. The 99% Aloe Vera Gel might simply have less vitamin E, or not include cucumber juice or some other beneficial skin care product ingredient. In my opinion, the most important thing to remember with Aloe Vera Gel is remembering to use it in the first place, as it is just too easy to forget about the fantastic natural healer that is Aloe Vera.
